Full screen popups are great for grabbing attention and guiding your website visitors toward important actions, like signing up for a newsletter or checking out a special offer. Like banners, they can help you highlight promotions, make major announcements, or show off new products that might otherwise be missed. Full screen popups can also be leveraged as a soft age gating measure for restricted products where age gating is required.
It’s important to use full screen popups wisely—timing, relevance, and easy dismissal options are important to keeping the customer experience a positive one. When they’re done right, full screen popups can be a powerful tool to enhance your customer’s experience and achieve your goals.
Under the Boxes dropdown in the header, choose Create New Box.
Select the type of data you want to collect and then how you want it to display. For full screen, choose Lightbox.
Pick any theme (there is a quick start theme available or you can turn any theme into a full screen popup) and give it a name.
Click on full screen.
Add the image that you want to use.
Click Use Image and then change the Image Repeat / Size setting to “Cover”. A good place to start with Image Position is “Center/Center”
Hit Preview.
You have to use Preview to see what your full screen popup will look like in real life. The editor will not fully reflect your changes. We’re working to update this and thank you for your patience!
Once you’ve seen this layout in preview mode, you’ll get an idea of the adjustments you may want to make in Window Settings, Box Border, Box Background, or other places. Digioh gives you the ability to really fine tune how your popup behaves on site.
Next you’ll want to design your mobile version. On this layout you may want to change the full screen background type to “Split Top”, for example.
Once your mobile version is fully designed, hit Save and Publish.
Full screen popups are high converting and can be a powerful way to grab the attention of your website visitors. Be sure to use them sparingly, however, as they can become overwhelming to your customers if they see them too often.
